Advancing Science
Through Innovation

Science should be about discovery, not bureaucracy. That's why we built SymbyAI to help scientists get back to what matters: exploring, discovering, and pushing boundaries.

Our Story

Every scientific breakthrough starts with a question. Ours was simple: "Why does peer review take months when we have the technology to do it in minutes?"

We're building SymbyAI because we believe that when researchers spend less time fighting with paperwork and more time testing hypotheses, humanity wins. It's that simple.

We're a small, passionate, fully remote team, driven by three core beliefs.

,
Discovery

Real Science Is Messy

...and that's okay. We embrace the reality that breakthrough moments rarely follow a straight line. Our founder Ashia learned this firsthand at Fermilab while developing algorithms for autonomous particle accelerators. Today, she brings that same experimental mindset to building tools that support the actual research process, not an idealized version of it.

,
Curiosity

Curiosity Runs Deep

We're researchers at heart. We ask questions, challenge assumptions, and sometimes go down fascinating rabbit holes. Just like the scientists we serve, we're driven by an insatiable need to understand how the world works.

,
Ethics

Ethics Aren't Optional

We build tools that make research better while respecting the humans behind it. No hidden agendas, just good science happening faster. Because when researchers spend less time fighting with paperwork and more time testing hypotheses, humanity wins.

Meet the Team

Ashia Livaudais
Founder
Throughout her career, Ashia has consistently delivered state-of-the-art algorithmic solutions across various fields, from medical physics to advanced mathematics. Her unique combination of scientific rigor and AI innovation drives SymbyAI's mission to transform scientific research through intelligent automation.
Jacob Ugalde
Frontend Engineer
Jacob is a Frontend Engineer who's created diverse consumer-facing experiences, ranging from websites and mobile applications to even large-scale venue designs. He is driven by the desire to realize tomorrow and all its potentials, and by joining SymbyAI, he hopes to create a future where scientific research is as painless as it is invigorating.
John Aven
Head of Engineering
John is a diehard technologist & leader. Building teams and products focused on growth, excellence, and the best technology has to offer - AI or otherwise - it’s what makes him tick. He firmly believes that every single developer has what it takes to excel, and every product can thrive given the right guidance and nurturing. Whether working a crowd in a trade show as part of a marketing and sales effort, or sitting with an engineer one-on-one to help solve the tough problems, he gives it his all with unwavering enthusiasm, regardless of what it may entail. And no matter what: he is hands-on, for this there is no compromise.
Raven Schultz
Frontend Engineer
Raven is a versatile Frontend Engineer with five years of experience specializing in TypeScript, React/NextJS, and web animation. When not crafting user interfaces, Raven explores interests in rationality and maker technology, bringing a strategy of 'everything can always be made better' to both professional and personal pursuits.
Sean Shelley-Tremblay
Marketing Lead
Sean likes to dump rocket fuel on Symby’s growth. Before Symby, he spent time lobbying the government to invest more in longevity medicine, building the brand at one of the most impactful organizations in biotech, and developing surgical technology.
Steven Zuber
Full Stack Software Engineer
As a software engineer at SymbyAI, Steven builds robust backend systems that power seamless user experiences. With 15 years of passion for AI technology, he believes in creating reliable software that enables both the team and end users at large to achieve their goals more efficiently and effectively.
Tiffany Durgin
Chief of Operations
A seasoned executive with 13 years of operations experience and 10 years in HR leadership, Tiffany brings a strategic and people-centric approach to organizational growth. As Chief Operating Officer, she excels in optimizing processes, driving cross-functional collaboration, and building high-performance teams.
