Advancing Science
Through Innovation

Science should be about discovery, not bureaucracy. That's why we built SymbyAI to help scientists get back to what matters: exploring, discovering, and pushing boundaries.

Our Story

Every scientific breakthrough starts with a question. Ours was simple: "Why does peer review take months when we have the technology to do it in minutes?"

We're building SymbyAI because we believe that when researchers spend less time fighting with paperwork and more time testing hypotheses, humanity wins. It's that simple.

We're a small, passionate, fully remote team, driven by three core beliefs.

,
Discovery

Real Science Is Messy

...and that's okay. We embrace the reality that breakthrough moments rarely follow a straight line. Our founder Ashia learned this firsthand at Fermilab while developing algorithms for autonomous particle accelerators. Today, she brings that same experimental mindset to building tools that support the actual research process, not an idealized version of it.

,
Curiosity

Curiosity Runs Deep

We're researchers at heart. We ask questions, challenge assumptions, and sometimes go down fascinating rabbit holes. Just like the scientists we serve, we're driven by an insatiable need to understand how the world works.

,
Ethics

Ethics Aren't Optional

We build tools that make research better while respecting the humans behind it. No hidden agendas, just good science happening faster. Because when researchers spend less time fighting with paperwork and more time testing hypotheses, humanity wins.

How We Hire Engineers

At our company, we believe that the hiring process should be transparent, engaging, and respectful of your time and skills. Here’s what you can expect when you apply for a software development position with us:

  1. Resume Review: Initially, we'll review your resume and any links you provide, such as GitHub or StackOverflow, to understand your previous work and contributions. This helps us get a first-look at your expertise and areas of interest.
  2. Interview One: Introduction and Background
    1. Duration: Up to 30 minutes.
    2. Conducted by: Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
    3. Overview: Our CTO will introduce you to our company's mission, the core team, including our founders and their roles, and detailed information about what your specific position would entail.
    4. Discussion: We like to keep things personable; you'll be asked about your professional background, along with discussing some of your interests and experiences. This is also the stage where some initial technical questions are posed to gauge your technical acumen in a conversational manner.
  3. Interview Two: Practical Skills Assessment
    1. Duration: At least 30 minutes.
    2. Focus: Instead of traditional coding tests, we invite you to solve practical and enjoyable coding tasks that are reflective of the real-world scenarios you might face in our projects. This allows us to see your problem-solving skills in action and gives you a taste of the actual work you'd be doing (without making you contribute to our codebase for free).
    3. Decision: You’ll get a decision from us within a timeframe that will be clearly communicated during the final interview.
